International conference session in Florida viewed live in the UK...

Thanks to an initiative of the US Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and the US Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation (MDF) a joint session of the biennial International Myotonic Dystrophy Consortium (IDMC) could be viewed live by Internet users in the UK. Broadcast over five hours on Saturday evening (GMT), 3rd December 2011, UK viewers could share the atmosphere at the Florida gathering, and hear something of the papers presented by researchers to IDMC delegates over the preceding two days. Thanks to the US MDF and MDA for this welcome service.  MDSG has been pleased to provide some financial support for IDMC, and has enabled some post-graduate UK students to attend. MDSG Directors John and Sue Kelly represented us, and a report of their impressions will be published in the MDSG Newsletter soon, with edited extracts on this website.
