HALF + FIVE TENTHS = FULL MARATHON FAMILY EFFORT.

On Sunday 11th September 2011, Dr Jeremy Rhodes, his wife Dr Helen Brownlee, their children Rebecca (12) and Jacob (9), and their cousins Georgia (13) and Scarlet (only 6!) ran in the Robin Hood Nottingham Marathon, an event involving 15,000 people. They wanted to raise vital funds for the Myotonic Dystrophy Support Group and to increase the public awareness of myotonic dystrophy.

Jeremy ran the half marathon course (13 miles) in an amazing 2 hours and 7 minutes, whilst the rest of the family completed the less demanding mini marathon (each running 2.5 miles) a total distance of a full marathon. Quite an achievement for a first attempt!

MDSG is very grateful to Jeremy, Helen and the children whose efforts will have made an important contribution to the search for a cure for myotonic dystrophy and which have so far raised nearly £1,000.

Their website remains open for further donations at justgiving.com/jeremy-rhodes.
